A quick update on the novel after a short, sharp session in the sunshine: 1,400 new words in the bank, comprising the first three mini-chapters of chapter ten, the title of which is Leviathan Moon. Main features: a geological upheaval and a flashback to a dramatic past event. To come in this chapter: an exchange of information between main characters Nimbus and Abalone, and a realisation that their goals are essentially the same. A moment of teambuilding then, though a wary one. It’s pretty much on-outline but, as usually happens, the emotions underlying the plotted action have turned out to be rather different to what I’d expected.
