Here’s a great opportunity to hear from Osnat Shurer, the Academy Award®-nominated producer of Disney’s mega-hit Moana. In a special virtual session at VIEW Conference 2020, Shurer will share insights from her career as a filmmaker and documentarian and talk about her latest project, Disney’s upcoming animated feature Raya and the Last Dragon, set to release in theaters March 2021.
The live event takes place on Tuesday, October 20th, 2020 at 10:00am PDT/ 19:00 CET, and will be streamed live to a global audience. Shurer will be in virtual conversation with Carolyn Giardina, tech editor at Hollywood Reporter, and will also be responding to a selection of questions submitted by attendees on the VIEW 2020 website during the session.
After producing and directing various film and television projects, plus a number of interactive installations, Shurer joined Pixar Animation Studios in 2002 as executive producer of the studio’s Shorts Group, where she oversaw production of animated projects across multiple platforms. Shurer has also consulted on a number of animated features, including Aardman Animations’ Arthur Christmas. She joined Walt Disney Animation Studios in 2012 as Vice President of Development. In 2017, she received an Academy Award nomination as producer of Moana, together with directors John Musker and Ron Clements, in the best Animated Feature Film category.
