Happy New Year!
I’m starting 2024 with a full desk and a busy slate. Top of the list is my current work-in-progress. What can I tell you about it? Well, it’s a new novel, completely unrelated to anything else I’ve written, and I’m about halfway through the first draft. Apart from that, sorry, my lips are sealed!
One thing I can tell you about is Animation Time Machine, a series of columns I started writing for Animation Magazine in November last year. Each month, I pore over vintage movie journals and report back on what was happening in the world of animation exactly 100 years ago. Click here to read the latest column looking back at January 1924.
My ghostwriting adventures continue. I’m working on a new fantasy trilogy for young readers, due to be published in 2025 by Ravensburger, in German translation. I delivered the final draft of the second book just before Christmas, and I’m due to start on the final volume soon. I’ll post more details about this exciting project as the publication date approaches.
Finally, I’ve just completed a new book trailer for The String City Mysteries, my collection of seven novelettes about an interdimensional detective who solves peculiar cases in an even more peculiar metropolis. Originally published in Realms of Fantasy, and by 40K Books, the stories form a prequel to my fantasy novel String City.
