Stone & Sky – New Edition Out Now

Stone & Sky by Graham Edwards

Many months ahead of schedule, I’m thrilled to announce the publication of a brand new edition of Stone & Sky, my epic fantasy novel first published by HarperCollins in 1999. Except for a few very minor tweaks to the text, this new edition – available in paperback and for the first time as an ebook for Kindle – is a faithful reproduction of the original novel, which chronicles the adventures of Jonah Lightfoot, a Victorian explorer transported into a parallel world of extraordinary dimensions.

Imagine a wall the size of a world …

Caught in the eruption of Krakatoa in 1883, Victorian adventurer Jonah Lightfoot is catapulted to the vertiginous world of Stone. Here he is pitted against Archan, an immortal dragon who has lain imprisoned for a million years with hatred growing inside her … and is now free.

Embarking on a desperate odyssey across this strange vertical landscape, Jonah meets new companions, magic and more besides. For Stone is more than just a fantastic realm – inside its mighty wall lies the key to the past, present and future of the entire human race.

Reviews

  • “Graham Edwards has a strong and sometimes bizarre imagination, which he deftly combines with a gift for crafting thrilling action and suspense sequences, topping everything with a dash of humour and an undercurrent of teasing romance” – Amazon
  • “An imaginative tour-de-force, quality writing … a superior work of fantasy” – SFX
  • “Polished and inventive” – LineOne

If you enjoy reading Stone & Sky, rest assured I’m already hard at work preparing new editions of Stone & Sea and Stone & Sun, the second and third books in the Stone trilogy. Keep checking this blog – or better still subscribe free for updates – for news on their publication.

  1. Excellent news to see out-of-print book to be available once again. Looking forward to buy one soon!

  2. Ohhh, this makes me so happy. I love this series. I still have my originals stashed away. I do hope this means we can see the rest of the Stone Trilogy re-published, maybe the rest of the Dragon Saga.

I would also LOVE more of the Peregrine Cycle. I got Dragons of Bloodrock for my Birthday and finished it in 3 days. Soooo good.

    1. Thanks for the kind words, Christina. I plan to have the entire Stone trilogy out by the end of this year. Dragonstorm and Dragonflame are next! As for Bloodrock and the rest of the Peregrine cycle, the stories exist in vestigial form but nothing is written yet. Fingers crossed I’ll come back round to them before too much longer.

      1. Knowing that there are plans, even vestigial ones (for more Peregrine) is so exciting. You dragon books remain one of my favourite reads, and most recomended to other people. In fact just this weekend past there was some debate between myself and others about if Dragonstorm and Dragonflame would follow the path to ebook.

I started with Stone and Sky ♡

Who is doing the glorious new cover arts? I can’t spot a dedication on the covers.

        1. Thank you for being such a loyal reader, Christina! Glad you like the new covers. They’re all my own work. It’s daunting following in the footsteps of Geoff Taylor and Les Edwards, who did the cover art for the original Dragonstorm and Stone trilogies respectively, but at the same time it’s hugely rewarding finding my own ways to interpret the stories.
